Why not write a report about your festival for Old Time News

People will have seen from the latest issue of the Old Time News and from Paul’s list on the Old-Time Cornwall site that there are lots of great festivals coming up this summer. I would like to get reports of as many of these as possible for the Old Time News please. Reports don’t have to be very long so this doesn’t have to be an onerous task – don;t feel you have to describe all 3 days in detail e.g. “First we found our camp site, then we went to find the showers etc etc” – none of this is really needed. All I want is to get a feel for the event, some idea of the facilities – camping, food, showers, places to have sessions – and something about the old-time acts which caught your eye.  Please let me know beforehand if you intend to do this, so I can prevent multiple people doing the same event! I’m afraid I can’t offer anything in return except the grateful thanks of the old-time community. Contact Steve Wise editor@foaotmad.org.uk

Next Pickin’ Lunchtime Sunday 8th April 2018 3-6pm

Hi Y’all, we invite you to get your monthly ‘Old Time Fix’ in Reading UK on every 1st Sunday 3-6pm at Pickin’ Lunchtime @ The Global Cafe, 35-39 London St, Reading UK, RG1 4PS (free parking at rear & only 5 min walk from train station). Ph: 0118 958 3555

Players of all levels, singers & dancers & friends are welcome to our monthly 1st Sunday acoustic music session.

Generally American stringed band stuff (Old Time, Bluegrass, Blues & Folk) and hosted according to traditional session etiquette. If new to this then take a peek at http://www.pegramjam.com/etiquette.html and while there also check out this useful resource for accompanying tunes unfamiliar to you (it is hoped that tune leaders will announce tune titles before commencing to play giving those with this book time to find them).

Hope to see you there :O)

Your Pickin Lunchtime session hosts are Stu Weetman & Colm Daly.
See also our Facebook Group where you’ll find under group description video links to many of the songs & tunes we do in their respective keys: https://facebook.com/groups/pickinlunchtime
