Reed Island Rounders Tour

Hi FOAOTMAD folks! Looks like you all had a wonderful time at Summer camp. We Reed Island Rounders are excited to be returning back to Gainsborough next February. We are extending our stay to include an “apres-tour”, and need your help. Because we have some friends in Scotland, we are hoping to start our tour by going north, then looping back along the west coast. We don’t have our flights yet, but intend to use Manchester to arrive & depart. Ray Banks has graciously agreed to transport us about – thanks!!

We would love to be hosted for house concerts, pub gigs, folk clubs, or whatever would work along our route. I know the folk clubs get booked up early, so we may have missed some chances.
So here is our hopeful, but not limited, route, so any suggestions and contacts would be appreciated.
Gainsborough>> Edinburgh>> Ardnamurchan>>Mull>>Glasgow>>Dumfries>>Lake District>>Manchester.

We are not ruling out more of the Midlands or North Wales, and still don’t have anything firm on the northern end. So all tips are welcome. Please communicate with me directly, and Tim Rooke. You can PM me and we’ll get together on email as well.

A New Chairman for FOAOTMAD

The Foaotmad committee are pleased to announce that, following the resignation of our previous Chairman, Peter Haynes, Alan Pridgeon has offered to take on that role. The committee has unanimously voted to accept that offer and so Alan is now Chairman of Foaotmad. The office will be open for nomination and election at the society’s AGM at Gainsborough festival in February.

THE HORSENECKS

From Portland, Oregon the stringband that drove them wild at Fire in the Mountain Festival last year, playing hard-hitting Old Time and exciting upbeat foot stompers. Fiery fiddling, jaw-dropping banjo and sweet harmonies with a rhythm section to die for. Put on your dancing shoes.

We’re celebrating the release of our brand new album Fiddlehead! Recorded in Portland in late 2017 and all live around a single microphone, Fiddlehead is a dynamic collection of old time fiddle tunes, banjo tunes, vocal harmonies and original music.
